Are we gonna see SAMSUNG's self driving car on California roads...
As our smartphone are getting smarter day by day so our cars. As the technology is improving day by day empirically it’s just matter of next couple of years when we’ll see the first Autonomous car available for consumers.
While APPLE’s car team scattered, SAMSUNG just got the approval to test their autonomous vehicles on state roads in California on AUG-31-2017, according to the CA Department of Motor Vehicle’s website.
Samsung seems to beat many companies in R&D department of Autonomous vehicles as the South Korean company has already gotten the green light to test self-driving vehicles in South Korea, but it’s California license means the tech giant is likely looking to start testing its technology stateside as well.
In 2015, SAMSUNG announced a new division that would focus on self-driving vehicle software, rather than the creation of the entire vehicle and they have got approval to test cars in their home country of South Korea, using software adapted to Hyundai Vehicles.
While Waymo has what was known as the self-driving Google car, and Uber has used Volvo cars among others, it is still unclear how self-driving technology will become available to the public and whether technology firms will turn into car firms, as Elon Musk’s Tesla has.
